FAQs
Adding to your home screen is the single best thing you can do to protect your data and get the best app experience.
iPhone (Safari):
Open Knoxtr in Safari
Tap the Share button (square with arrow pointing up) at the bottom
Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen"
Tap Add
Android (Chrome):
Open Knoxtr in Chrome
Tap the three-dot menu (top right)
Tap "Add to Home Screen"
Tap Add
Not in the beta version. Because data is stored locally on each device, each phone has its own separate data. Two people cannot share or sync data in real time during the beta period.
The aim is to create a full cloud version which should support team accounts with shared campaigns and areas. This is one of the most requested features and is on the roadmap.
Chrome users: This is the most common issue for Chrome users on Android and desktop.
Check 1 — Are you in Incognito mode?
Open the normal Chrome browser window (not private). Incognito mode never saves data permanently.
Check 2 — Is storage blocked for Knoxtr?
In Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Site Settings → scroll to knoxtr.com → make sure Storage is set to Allow.
Check 3 — Is "Clear browsing data on exit" enabled?
In Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data → On exit tab → make sure "Cookies and site data" is NOT ticked.
Best fix: Add Knoxtr to your home screen and always open it from there. This tells Chrome to treat it more like an installed app and protect its storage.
Most common cause: You opened Knoxtr in a different browser, cleared your browsing data, or used Private/Incognito mode.
Knoxtr Beta stores all data locally in your browser's storage — not in the cloud. This means your data is tied to the specific browser and device you used when you set up the app.
Check the following:
Are you using the same browser you used when you first set up Knoxtr? (e.g. Safari on iPhone, not Chrome)
Did you recently clear your browsing history or site data?
Are you in Private or Incognito mode? (data is wiped when the tab closes)
If your data is gone, unfortunately it cannot be recovered from a cleared browser. This is why we strongly recommend exporting your data regularly as a backup.
Before switching phones, export your data from the app. Go to Results → Stats and tap the Export CSV button at the bottom of the page. Save that file somewhere safe (email it to yourself).
The full cloud version of Knoxtr (coming soon hopefully) will allow proper data migration. When it launches, beta users will get priority access to import their data.
Knoxtr should work without mobile data once it has been loaded at least once. If it's not loading offline, try these steps:
Add Knoxtr to your home screen — this improves offline caching significantly
Open the app once on WiFi before going out knocking, so it fully loads and caches
On iPhone, Safari caches PWA apps added to the home screen automatically
On Android Chrome, the caching is also handled automatically once added to home screen
